During 2020, TrainESEE partners and trainers have been working hard to develop four educational modules for the academic staff of six RIS universities, targeting at upgrading their generic skills. This year, these will be implemented as 5-day workshops, starting with Project Development and Management Modules. Twenty participants will have the opportunity to learn in an interactive way, within an online environment.
After a successful implementation of this module, the attendees are expected to have acquired the competencies to apply the project management tools for the development and submission of high quality project applications, followed by an efficient implementation of any project within the predefined scope, time and budget.
Expected key competencies and learning outcomes include:
- an ability to use project management tools both for the preparation of a successful research proposal and for project implementation,
- understanding steps of successful proposal preparation, e.g. posing an idea in the TRL scale, identifying the suitable funding sources, setting the relevant requirements, forming the consortium with the proper expertise, layout of the proposal, etc.
- basic knowledge on how to run a project, e.g. team building, time planning, cash-flow, selection of suitable KPIs,
- confidence in creating a complementary, balanced, reliable and efficient consortium which will be presented in the proposal and will implement the project afterwards,
- comprehension of the importance of project risk management (PRM) and identification of the main PRM activities,
- an ability to identify the potential technical, regulatory, market and cost-related barriers-to-entry, both at the proposal preparation stage as well as during the project implementation,
- knowledge on how to develop a communication plan for a proposal and a project.
- skill in preparation of presentations, planning effective meetings between different stakeholders etc.
